Anthropomorphism
Anthropomorphism is the projection of human characteristics onto non-human things. In essence, anthropomorphism is a kind of metaphor insofar as something (a non-human thing) is compared with something else (a human being).

In this example, the pool is described as "cheating," even though bodies of water cannot actually, intentionally deceive, the pool reflects Narcissus's face and Narcissus is deceived into believing that it is the face of another person.
