The advanced poetry
workshop is devoted to writing poems, attempting a longer poem or series of
poems, and submitting work to the workshop for critique of peer poetry.
Participants will commit to the practice of poetry and creative process, while
honing professional field skills necessary to sustain the work.
Additionally, we will
investigate the field of contemporary poetry for the purpose of promoting
original poems in submissions, readings, and alternative presentations of the
work. Some time will be spent in the making of a video poem. Be prepared to write,
read and critique work, discuss assigned readings, perform and prepare poems
for submission.
