Asian American Lit (Cross-listed as ES 372)

The assigned readings of this course—all set in urban environments (with a touch of noir)—explode the Model Minority myth and encourage us to examine the position of Asian Americans in American culture. In this class, we will ask: What exactly do we mean by the label “Asian American literature”—or even “Asian American”?
