Graduate Fiction Workshop (CW)

In this fiction workshop, we will think critically about the craft of writing, using Catherine Brady’s Story Logic and the Craft of Fiction as a handbook for delving deeper into story structure. We will read and deconstruct stories in Madison Smartt Bell’s Narrative Structure. We will write—a lot. In addition to workshop stories, students will be expected to turn in 5 new pages of fiction per week. Finally, we will build a writing community where we can discuss not only our work, but our aesthetics and ethics as artists.
