This class will help you
improve writing and elaboration skills necessary to build your
college career. It will also familiarize you with writing for
an academic audience through the use of library resources and
research methodology.
We will experience a
variety of in-class activities and of texts, ranging from
journal articles to film documentaries. These texts deal with
various topics and will help you familiarize with diverse
writing techniques.
Writing assignments:
- informal (not graded) writing based on readings/video
screenings and in-class discussions - 3 formal (graded) essays
- 1 final research paper
- 4 grammar quizzes
A few extra-credit activities
will be announced in the course of the semester.
