This course is designed to prepare students for a variety of college writing tasks, such as composing an argument or drafting a research paper. We will approach most writing assignments rhetorically by thinking about questions like the following: what is the writer’s purpose and stance, who is the audience, and what is the context? Which genre and media are best suited for a particular purpose and audience? These are key questions that writers routinely ask, and we will have weekly writing assignments to help you sharpen your rhetorical skills.
