In this course, you will develop your critical thinking skills and learn to write for a variety of audiences and in a variety of genres. The goal of this class is to prepare you to work across some of the writing contexts that you’ll encounter in your college courses. You will learn to identify and effectively address an audience, conduct research, and engage with source material, as well as develop revision strategies.
To do this, you will be asked to choose a personal project to take from start to finish through the summer session. By tailoring the major written work to your own interests, you can MAKE ENG 100 WORK FOR YOU! In the course of this semester, you will have produced 5,000 words of finished prose and made progress in a project that you care deeply about.
