This is an Asynchronou course that does not require students to meet at a certain time.
Summer 6-week English 100 course is fast paced, but certainly most doable (many have succeeded in the past).
Students will need the following qualities to be successful:
- Self starters who have an attention to detail.
- Accountable in staying current with all upcoming assignments.
- Able to follow instructions carefully.
- Pays careful attention to feedback and suggestions given to returned written assignments. Learns from mistakes and moves forward.
- Does the best possible work for each writing assignment and demonstrates improvement.
Important Course Notes:
- No textbooks are required. All of the learning material will be on Laulima and must be read/watched/studied in order to succeed.
- Four major writing assignments from 1100 to 1500 words each.
- A first and final draft for the first three assignments.
- No first draft for the final writing assignment.
- Weekly readings, discussion posts, impromptu writing, and quizzes.
- Peer reviews of a classmate’s essay.
- No late work is accepted with the exception of a 48 hour grace period for final drafts that will result in a full grade reduction.
- No make up work is given out.
- Assignments will be given out and due several days of the week during the six weeks.
