Born on Oʻahu and raised in Mililani, I spent much of my childhood buried between the stacks of books at my grandparent's house and the local library. I graduated from Mililani High School in 2010 and currently attend UH Mānoa as an incoming Ph.D candidate for the Fall 2017 semester. Though my academic background is strongly influenced by literary and cultural studies, I also have a real passion for composition and pedagogy. Ideally, I would love to incorporate my personal and professional interests regarding comics/graphic novels and video games into an engaging composition course that can help students expand their understandings and notions about writing.
