IntroLit: CW:Documentary Poetry & Fiction

By the
time you get to college, you’ve been defined by a series of documents, among
them your birth and/or adoption certificates, your elementary school photos,
your high school transcripts and test scores, doctors’ prescriptions, awards,
and so on.  This course introduces poetry
and fiction that uses documentation within it.
These works call into question neat divisions between research and
feeling, and our public and private lives.
Students will contribute to a class blog, work toward a documentary
project, and write at least two short essays.
