Composition I

Where do you come from?

Who do you come from?

How do your roots amplify/push/disobey/connect to your routes?

In this course, you will reflect on the roles of place and community in today’s world. As you cultivate college-level writing habits, research techniques, and critical thinking skills, you will reflect on your own experiences of home and belonging and make connections to stories beyond your own.

Readings include but are not limited to writing by Kathy Jetnil-Kijiner, Jamaica Kincaid, Cheryse Sana, Kamana Beamer, and D. Watkins.
