Course Description

English 209: Business Writing

Prof. Karyl Garland

English 209: Business Writing is designed to help students delve into the various forms of communication that exist within the business world such as professionally composed emails, memos, proposals, letters, and research-based reports. Over the six weeks of Summer Session I, this course will introduce students to the intricacies involved in creating these essential workplace documents with skill and confidence and will help individuals become the very best writers they can be.

In addition, as the instructor, I will encourage students to refine their respective critical thinking and communication skills with a mindfulness toward the recipient and with an eye for precision and for achieving the ideal outcomes through written, and spoken, correspondence.
